Who we are
Electra Norte is a business group devoted to the production and distribution of electrical energy to third parties, and also provides technical services related to both activities.
We supply electrical energy to more than 4,500 customers, and we produce electricity using various sources of renewable energy.
Having more than eighty five years of experience in the electrical sector, in addition to our flexibility, allows us to be a dynamic and innovative company, able to develop services and look for solutions that are tailored to our customers.
Electra Norte carries out all of its activities with the utmost respect for the environment.
History
Our trajectory began in 1923, in the central region of Asturias, as a small company dedicated to supplying electricity. A decade later, we were already supplying energy to more than fifty population centers in the municipalities of Siero and Bimenes. After overcoming the difficult crisis of the post-war, we set out to accomplish the ambitious task of establishing an electrical network in the area. From that point forward, there was a huge increase in consumption, and the focus of the investment was then shifted towards improving the electrical power lines. Thus, in 1965, the distributor company adopted the business name that it still has today: Electra de Carbayín. In the 1970’s, we finished setting up of all of the general electrical networks, and the 80’s and 90’s were spent making several renovations and improvements to the medium and low-voltage power lines.
At the end of the 1990’s, modifications were made to the legal framework of the electrical sector, which allowed the company to diversify and branch out towards other areas of business. As a result, Electra Norte was born in order to promote and develop all types of projects that are related to the production and sale of electrical energy. The company has long been a pioneer in connecting to the network of photovoltaic plants, as well as the sale of green energy, setting up small wind farms, and taking advantage of new sources of renewable energy.
Electra Norte is now a business group that carries out the distribution, production and provision of services to third parties, both in Spain, as well as in other countries.
